Revival of the 'Friendship Stop'
Wheatfields Primary School replaced and cleaned their 'friendship stop' bench- designed for children to go when they don't have a friend to play with- and made it more accessible in bad weather conditions.
Glenthorne High School students have established a tradition of hand making and delivering Christmas hampers to lonely local senior citizens in local care homes and adult care centres, at Christmas time.
School councillors at Thurton CofE Primary School supported the idea of learning outside, even during the winter, and kept parents and students informed about the changes in their school newsletter, and through an article for the local newspaper.
Students at Castle Hill Primary School have undertaken an eco schools project, specifically focusing on recycling. They have recycled break time fruit for composting, created a whole school eco-friendly competition and joined forces with the Salvation Army to become a clothes bank.
Inspired by a visit to Parliament, school councillors at Milton CofE Primary School worked with their local Parish Council, to learn more about democratic processses. They organised a ballot to decide future improvements to their school.
